Jay Hardy’s football journey began at McCallie High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he emerged as a standout defensive end and tight end. His senior year was particularly impressive, leading the Blue Tornado to an 11-2 record and a Division II Class AAA state championship. College Career: Auburn to Liberty
Hardy’s collegiate career began at Auburn University, where he joined the Tigers as a four-star recruit in the 2020 class. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 299 pounds, he was considered a prototypical defensive lineman for Auburn’s system under coach Rodney Garner. Hardy’s versatility allowed him to excel in both odd and even man fronts, showcasing his ability to play across the defensive line and effectively engage in both 1-gap and 2-gap schemes .​College and Magnolia
During his freshman year in 2020, Hardy saw limited action, appearing in the Citrus Bowl against Northwestern. However, seeking more playing time and development, he transferred to Liberty University in 2021, reuniting with former Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze. At Liberty, Hardy made an immediate impact, participating in all 14 games during the 2023 season. He started five games, including the final four, and recorded 31 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, a pass breakup, and a quarterback hurry.
