Auburn’s Strong Message After Four-Star Recruit Transfers to SEC Program

It’s been well documented that Bruce Pearl is expected to start five new players when the 2025–26 season begins. He recently added another name to his growing list of options.
Auburn Men’s Basketball made a strong statement on Easter morning with the commitment of a four-star recruit Elyjah Freeman: “A skilled hooper with bounce to match 🔥😎”.
Freeman entered the transfer portal on March 17 and officially committed to Auburn on Saturday. According to On3 Sports, Freeman has a four-star rating in the portal.
Pearl is getting a 6-foot-8 guard/forward who played last season at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.
He was named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week and also earned NABC Division II Player of the Week honors in January.
For the season, Freeman averaged 18.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He also shot 58.7% from the field.
“Elyjah Freeman is your classic late bloomer,” Pearl said when asked about Freeman. “He was under-recruited out of high school, goes to Lincoln Memorial, and just does a tremendous job. One of the best offensive players in all of Division II basketball as a freshman, Elyjah is an incredibly hard worker, dedicated, and driven.”
