In a significant move to bolster their lineup for the upcoming season, South Carolina men’s basketball has officially added Jamarii Thomas, a seasoned guard with a proven track record across multiple programs. The 6-foot guard from Greensboro, North Carolina, brings a wealth of experience and versatility to Coach Lamont Paris’s squad.

A Journey Through Multiple Programs

Jamarii Thomas’s basketball journey has seen him traverse various institutions, each contributing to his development as a player. He began his collegiate career at UNC-Wilmington, where he played for two seasons, participating in 59 games and showcasing his potential. In 2024, he transferred to Norfolk State, where he made an immediate impact. During his lone season with the Spartans, Thomas was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Year, averaging 16.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He led the league in scoring and was also honored as the conference’s Newcomer of the Year, helping lead Norfolk State to a 24-11 record.

Prior to his time at Norfolk State, Thomas spent two seasons at UNC-Wilmington from 2021 to 2023, where he played in 59 games over two seasons.

Thomas’s diverse experiences across different programs have equipped him with a versatile skill set that will be invaluable to South Carolina.
