NFL insider drops big news that there is belief a former Ohio State player could soon be traded by the team who drafted him
The 2025 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday and the Ohio State Buckeyes are going to be well represented throughout the seven rounds.
Ohio State has a shot at tying the record for players taken from one school in a draft, which Georgia set with 15 in 2022. The Buckeyes have a great shot at least tying that mark.
However, it is going to be interesting to see if one former Buckeye in the NFL is moved during the draft in a trade. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, there is some belief around the league that the Detroit Lions could trade WR Jameson Williams.
Of course, Williams was drafted out of Alabama but he did spend two of his three college years in Columbus with the Buckeyes. Williams was a part of a loaded wide receiver room in Columbus and playing time was hard to come by. In his OSU career, Williams caught 15 passes for 266 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
After transferring to spend his junior season with Alabama, Williams broke out with 1,572 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. It was the big season that Wiliams needed to make him a first round sleexruon to the Lions.
In his third NFL season last year, Williams had his best season yet with 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns. However, Williams has had a couple of suspensions since in the NFL and he missed a combined 16 games his first two years.
