ACC Program Predicted to Land 4-Star Notre Dame Transfer Quarterback
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish saw former four-star quarterback recruit Steve Angeli enter the transfer portal this offseason. Marcus Freeman and company had quarterback talent ahead of him on the depth chart and he chose to pursue playing time elsewhere.
While he has yet to officially commit anywhere, a new prediction has been made about where he will likely end up.
According to a prediction from Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports, Angeli will transfer to the Syracuse Orange.
If he makes that move, he would be attempting to replace Kyle McCord, who is a quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL draft after a big 2024 season at Syracuse.
Assuming Angeli has seen the end of his tenure with Notre Dame, he will leave without ever getting to show his true full potential.
Angeli has played in 21 games with the Fighting Irish, completing 72.5% of his pass attempts for 772 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just one interception. He also picked up 36 yards on the ground.
When he originally committed to play football at Notre Dame, Angeli was a four-star prospect hailing from Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey. He was ranked as the No. 21 quarterback in the country, the No. 365 overall player in the nation, and the No. 4 recruit from the state of New Jersey.
Landing with the Orange would take him close to home. He would also have a good shot at competing for the starting job.
If the Fighting Irish quarterback does commit to Syracuse, Notre Dame fans are sure to be following closely to see how he performs.
Last week, former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told the world about the way the team treated him on the way out the door. Former Jets (and now Rams) receiver Davante Adams already knew about it.
“We golfed together on a Wednesday [Feb. 5] in Vegas, at Shadow Creek, and then [Rodgers] told me he was going to [meet with the Jets] on Thursday [Feb. 6] and then come back and we’d play again Friday,” Adams recently told Mike Silver of TheAthletic.com. “And he was just in such a bad mood [after the meeting] that he hit me up and was like, ‘I’m not coming back, bro.’ He’s like, ‘This was horrible; they just disrespected me completely.'”
