The sessions, held just outside of Dallas at the elite InpowerIQ facility, represented more than just offseason conditioning. For Hill, they were about learning the nuances of pass coverage from a master of the craft — a cornerback who made a name for himself as one of the most cerebral defenders of his era, despite entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent. That cornerback? Chris Harris Jr., who played 10 seasons with the Broncos and was widely known for his versatility, football IQ, and slot dominance in a pass-heavy league.
Anthony Hill’s true freshman season was nothing short of explosive. The former five-star recruit out of Denton Ryan High School earned Freshman All-American honors in 2023, notching 67 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. His violent playing style, combined with high-end athleticism, gave Texas fans flashes of former Longhorn greats like Derrick Johnson and Malik Jefferson. But in an era where elite linebackers are expected to operate like oversized safeties, Hill’s ability in man and zone coverage became a priority this offseason — both for his development and his draft stock.
