Arizona Cardinals LT Paris Johnson completely healthy entering offseason program

While most of the focus in the NFL is on the upcoming NFL draft on Thursday, the Arizona Cardinals began their offseason program and commenced strength and conditioning work.

One of the questions entering the offseason was the health of both their starting offensive tackles — left tackle Paris Johnson and right tackle Jonah Williams.

We have the answer to one of those questions.

Johnson told reporters on Tuesday that he is “good to go completely.”

Johnson missed the final three games of the season with a strained MCL in his knee.

It was a new experience for him. He said he had never missed a game with injury dating back to high school.

“I hadn’t missed a game, high school, college, or ever up to that point,” he said. “But it’s part of the game. It happens.”

He was hoping he never would have to miss time.

In his first season at left tackle after playing his rookie season at right tackle, he is ready to show his potential.

“I’m trying to show the world that it’s time for me to make the jump to be the best version of myself, and I believe the best version of myself is one of the best tackles in the game, but now it’s time to show it.” he said.

He was a Pro Bowl alternate last season. He wants more.

For now, it is just through workouts. He won’t line up against another player until OTAs and minicamp.

But getting a healthy start to the offseason is a good way to kick things off.

As the Arizona Cardinals gear up for their offseason program, the health of their star left tackle, Paris Johnson Jr., is a key focal point. After an impressive rookie season, Johnson has entered this offseason completely healthy, which bodes well for both his development and the team’s offensive line continuity.

Drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Johnson quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the Cardinals’ offensive line. His agility, strength, and football IQ were evident throughout his first year, and having a clean bill of health heading into the offseason is vital for his continued growth. This period is crucial for young players, allowing them to refine their skills, build chemistry with teammates, and prepare for the rigors of an upcoming season.

In recent interviews, Johnson has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the field, mentioning that he spent the offseason focusing on both physical conditioning and technical refinement. His commitment to improving his footwork and pass-blocking technique demonstrates his dedication to becoming one of the elite tackles in the league. Moreover, Johnson’s health ensures he can participate fully in organized team activities (OTAs) and mini-camps, enhancing his chances to develop a better rapport with the Cardinals’ quarterbacks and offensive coaches.

With the Cardinals in a transitional phase, having a healthy Paris Johnson is not just beneficial—it’s essential. As the team seeks to establish a more potent offense, Johnson’s role will be pivotal. His blocking will be critical in providing protection for the QB, which will in turn affect the overall performance of the offense. As he steps into this offseason fully healthy, the Arizona Cardinals are optimistic about what Johnson can bring to the upcoming season.
