Duke basketball under Jon Scheyer: Insiders give transfer portal news, 2025 recruits, roster, plus targets

After winning national player of the year honors and leading the Duke Blue Devils to the Final Four, Cooper Flagg is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Flagg is one of three Duke freshmen who are expected to be lottery picks, but Jon Scheyer will simply reload the Duke basketball roster. Duke has the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in 2025 with four incoming freshmen who are ranked among the top 25 nationally in the 247Sports college basketball recruiting rankings.

However, Scheyer will also try to make additions from the college basketball transfer portal and it appears point guard is an area of particular interest. Duke basketball roster news
Duke has four prospects signed in the Class of 2025. Cameron Boozer is the No. 3 overall prospect and will follow in his father’s footsteps as a power forward for the Blue Devils while his twin brother Cayden Boozer is the No. 24 overall recruit and will play guard for Scheyer next season. Duke also signed No. 14 overall recruit Shelton Henderson and No.15 prospect Nikolas Khamenia.

However, Scheyer doesn’t appear to be done in the Class of 2025. Duke appears to be the frontrunners for No. 4 overall prospect Nate Ament. The McDonald’s All-American is the only uncommitted prospect in the top 25 of the 247Sports recruiting rankings and he’s expected to make his decision in the next couple weeks. A commitment from Ament would lock Duke into the No. 1 spot in the rankings for the third time in four years under Scheyer. Get the latest Duke basketball roster news at The Devil’s Den.
