Ex-Alabama football player goes back into transfer portal

Offensive lineman TJ Ferguson, who went by Terrence Ferguson II with the Crimson Tide, put his name in the transfer portal this spring, according to CBS Sports/247Sports.

Ferguson spent the 2024 season playing for Florida State. He started seven games and played in 11. He transferred to join the Seminoles after three seasons with the Crimson Tide.

Ferguson will be a redshirt senior this fall. The 6-4, 322-pound Georgia native played in five games during his final season with the Crimson Tide in 2023, starting against South Florida. That was Ferguson’s lone start during his time with Alabama.

Ferguson also played in five games in 2022 as a backup. In 2021, Ferguson logged action in only one game, which preserved his redshirt.

Former Alabama football player John Doe has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, signaling a shift in his college athletic career. After spending two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Doe, a talented wide receiver, faced stiff competition for playing time, contributing to his decision to seek new opportunities. Although he showcased his potential in practice and demonstrated flashes of brilliance in games, the depth of Alabama’s roster limited his on-field appearances.

Doe’s strategic move to enter the transfer portal allows him to explore options that may better fit his playing style and aspirations. With offers from various programs already anticipated, the talented athlete aims to find a new environment where he can maximize his potential and gain more extensive game experience.

During his time at Alabama, Doe benefitted from the guidance of Coach Nick Saban and the high level of competition, which he hopes will enhance his readiness for the next chapter. As the transfer portal continues to be a pivotal tool for student-athletes seeking growth and opportunity, Doe’s decision reflects both the challenges and possibilities within college sports today. Fans and analysts will be keeping a close eye on where he lands next as he seeks to revitalize his playing career.
