Former NFL QB Reveals Unexpected Truth About Jalen Milroe Before Draft
Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe could be skyrocketing up prospect lists in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler reported Sunday that Milroe had accepted an invitation to the draft, held this year in Green Bay.
Chase Daniel, a 13-year NFL veteran behind center, seems to believe that Milroe’s plan to attend is telling.
“This is a clear indication that Milroe has a 1st round grade by teams….” Daniel wrote Sunday on X, reacting to Brugler’s post.
Daniel made five starts as a professional and made his living as a career backup, most recently with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022.
ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid believes Milroe has one quality that professional teams value above all the others. Reid discussed it Sunday night on “SportsCenter.”
“The one thing that scouts keep coming back to with him is just his eye-popping athleticism,” Reid said. “He’s gonna enter a very distinct group his very first year in the NFL. Those are names that include Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, and also Justin Fields. You go back to that LSU game, he was absolutely terrific in that one.”
Reid also said he believes the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers could be possible suitors for Jalen Milroe. Decision-makers from the latter team went out to dinner with him before Alabama’s pro day. Milroe ran a blazing 40-yard dash at that audition, turning heads.
“It’s so important just to build a relationship, No. 1, and also talk ball,” Milroe said about that meal with Mike Tomlin and others. “I just thought it was a great opportunity to be with the Steelers. … I remember watching the AFC North and the battles that they had growing up. So, now to have the opportunity to be around Coach Tomlin, I don’t take it lightly at all. If the opportunity presents itself for me to be his quarterback, I’ll take full advantage of it.”
