Gamecock QB Dante Reno announces that he will enter the transfer portal. Reno will have 4 years of eligibility remaining at wherever he goes. Reno was a great ambassador for the Gamecocks and helped recruit many to South Carolina.

As of now, there is no official announcement indicating that South Carolina quarterback Dante Reno has entered the NCAA transfer portal. In fact, recent reports confirm that Reno remains committed to the Gamecocks and is poised to continue his development within the program. He has signed a name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal with Garnet Trust, further solidifying his ties to South Carolina .​On3

Dante Reno, a four-star recruit from Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, joined the Gamecocks as part of the 2024 signing class. Despite not seeing game action during his freshman season due to the emergence of LaNorris Sellers as the starting quarterback, Reno has been recognized for his leadership qualities and commitment to the team. Reno’s high school career was marked by impressive statistics and accolades. He completed 159 of 248 passes (64.1%) for 2,358 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in his senior year. While other programs, including Nebraska and Miami, continued to pursue Reno even after his commitment, he remained steadfast in his decision to join South Carolina. His dedication to the program and its future has been evident both on and off the field .​On3
