Duke\u2019s Cameron Boozer Posts for First Time Since Heartbreaking UConn Loss<\/h1>\n

The\u00a0Duke\u00a0Blue Devils were just 10 seconds away.<\/p>\n

Duke, the No. 1 overall seed of the men’s\u00a0NCAA Tournament, held a 72-70 lead over No. 2 UConn in their Elite Eight matchup on Sunday. In the literal blink of an eye, Duke freshman Cayden Boozer turned the ball over, and UConn’s Braylon Mullins nailed a three-pointer from the logo to send UConn to the Final Four and break Duke’s collective heart.<\/p>\n

After the game, Cayden Boozer somberly shared that he felt like he had let down his twin brother, Cameron Boozer, and “cost our team our season.”<\/p>\n

Cameron Boozer tearfully said at his presser, “I’m hurting right now. We’re all hurting. I wish I could’ve gave more for those guys.”<\/p>\n

Now, everyone is waiting to see if and when Cameron Boozer will declare for the 2026 NBA Draft. The projected top-3 pick has not done that, but he did post on social media for the first time since the heartbreaking loss.<\/p>\n

It would appear that Boozer is still processing what happened on Sunday and isn’t ready to post a goodbye or any other message to Duke fans. Instead, he simply reposted the news that Duke assistant Evan Bradds was introduced as Belmont’s next head coach on his Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer joined Josh Graham on Westwood One and spoke about his painful loss to UConn.<\/p>\n

“I’m still digesting. I’m still feeling it, and I haven’t [watched the tape] yet,” Scheyer\u00a0said<\/a>, adding, “I’m not shying away from the fact that there’s incredible heartbreak and disappointment when you lose the way we did on Sunday. I mean, we’ve lost two unimaginable ways the last two seasons.”<\/p>\n

Duke squandered a 14-point lead and lost to Houston in the Final Four last year.<\/p>\n
