The Duke Blue Devils are only one month removed from their painful Final Four defeat to the Houston Cougars. Cooper Flagg and Co. landed in San Antonio as clear favorites to go to the championship game against the Florida Gators before Houston stepped in the way and sent them home earlier than expected.
The Duke Blue Devils want to be prepared for anything, so they won’t duck any smoke next season.
The 2025-26 season is still several months away, but fans are already excited about the matchups that Jon Scheyer’s team might have. The non-conference duels always draw interest from fans and the potential list of opponents that Duke could have should excite their supporters.
Bleacher Report Hoops’ Instagram page shared a potential list of non-conference duels for the Blue Devils, which includes several high-profile college basketball programs that could make life hard for Scheyer and Co.
Michigan, Arkansas and Kansas among potential Duke’s non-conference opponents
The players might go against other talented rosters, but Jon Scheyer could also go at it against legendary coaches. The list includes the Texas Longhorns, Michigan State Spartans, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kansas Jayhawks and Michigan Wolverines.
om Izzo of Michigan State, John Calipari of Arkansas and Bill Self of Kansas are the three biggest names on the list. The only team that they faced last season out of this group was the Jayhawks, who beat them 75-72 on November 16 at home. Tyrese Proctor led the way with 15 points, six rebounds and two assists.
After such a painful defeat in the 2025 NCAA tournament, the Blue Devils are eager to bounce back and these duels, if confirmed, can help them prepare for another March Madness run.
