
Former Five-Star Guard Commits to Alabama
The Crimson Tide continues to roll on the recruiting trail, adding its third commitment from the transfer portal following the Tide’s second-straight appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.
Bethea, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard, chose the Crimson Tide over Kansas State, NC State, and returning to Miami.
Coming out of high school, Bethea was a five-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class and a top-ten prospect from Warminster, Pennsylvania, where he averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 assists, and 7.6 rebounds per game. He was also named the Philadelphia Catholic League MVP as a junior in high school.
He originally committed to the Hurricanes over Kansas, Alabama, Villanova, and others.
In his freshman season at Miami, Bethea started 16 games with 31 appearances, averaging 7.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 36.8 percent from the floor and 32.6 percent from three-point range.
His top performance came in a 91-84 victory over Syracuse on February 11, where he scored 21 points while collecting six rebounds for Miami.
Bethea is the third transfer portal addition for the Crimson Tide this cycle, joining Bucknell transfer Noah Williamson and Florida State transfer Taylor Bol Bowen as incoming members of the Crimson Tide.

Alabama’s NIL collective Yea Alabama announced returning players for the Crimson Tide next season, with Holloway, Wrightsell, Mallette, and Sherrell announcing they will return to Tuscaloosa. Announcements are still pending for Philon, Reid, and Stevenson, who could all three enter the draft, transfer, or return to Alabama next season.
