Georgia Football the Favorite to Land Highly Touted Two-Way Star

It could be a foregone conclusion that one local star plays college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. The bigger question might be where he will play on the field.

On3’s Rusty Mansell reported that the Bulldogs continue to have a strong lead in the recruitment of four-star athlete Ryan Mosley. Mansell called Mosley a wide receiver, but the Carrollton, Ga. product may play defense for the Bulldogs.

“The 6-foot-2, 205-pound four-star is listed as an athlete and he can play either offense or defense at the next level should he choose Georgia,” Mansell wrote. “From everything we’ve heard, it sounds like he can make his pick. Mosley has had UGA in the lead for a while.”

According to 247 Sports, Mosley has received offers from the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Texas A&M Aggies, South Carolina Gamecocks and Penn State Nittany Lions, in addition to the Bulldogs. Mosley has official visits scheduled with all five schools late this spring.

But the Bulldogs appear to have a leg up in his recruitment.

“I love Kirby, man,” Mosley told DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell on February 9. “I love Kirby. I love the coaches. Love the fans. Environment. Everything.”

The 247 Sports composite rankings rated Mosley the No. 28 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. Mosley is also the No. 24 Georgia prospect and a top 200 recruit according to the composite rankings.

Mosley will play his final high school season at Carrollton High School.

The Georgia Bulldogs are on the verge of securing a commitment from one of the most versatile and highly sought-after recruits in the 2025 class: Ryan Mosley, a two-way star known for his exceptional talents on both sides of the ball. Mosley’s potential addition to Georgia’s roster would significantly bolster the team’s depth and athleticism, aligning with Head Coach Kirby Smart’s commitment to building a dynamic and multifaceted squad.

Ryan Mosley: A Dual-Threat Prospect

Ryan Mosley has garnered attention for his impressive abilities as both a wide receiver and a defensive back. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 210 pounds, Mosley combines size, speed, and agility, making him a formidable presence on the field. His high school career has been marked by standout performances, including:

  • Offensive Contributions: Mosley has consistently been a top target in the passing game, showcasing reliable hands and the ability to make significant yardage gains. His route-running precision and understanding of defensive schemes have allowed him to exploit opposing secondaries effectively.

  • Defensive Prowess: Transitioning seamlessly to defense, Mosley has demonstrated exceptional ball-hawking skills, recording multiple interceptions and pass deflections throughout his high school tenure. His physicality and football IQ enable him to read plays and react swiftly, often turning defensive stops into offensive opportunities.

Recruitment Process and Georgia’s Position

Throughout his recruitment, Mosley has attracted interest from numerous top-tier programs across the country. However, the Bulldogs have emerged as the frontrunner to secure his commitment. Several factors contribute to Georgia’s advantageous position:

  • Proximity and Familiarity: Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Mosley has grown up attending Georgia games and has a strong familiarity with the program’s culture and expectations. This geographical closeness has allowed him to build relationships with coaching staff and current players, fostering a sense of belonging and comfort.

  • Coaching Staff and Development: The Bulldogs’ coaching staff, led by Kirby Smart, has a reputation for developing players’ talents and preparing them for the next level. Mosley has expressed admiration for the coaching staff’s approach and the program’s success in producing NFL-caliber talent.

  • Playing Style and Opportunity: Georgia’s defensive scheme, which emphasizes versatility and adaptability, aligns well with Mosley’s skill set. The opportunity to contribute on both sides of the ball, similar to his high school role, is a compelling factor in his consideration.

Impact on Georgia’s Program

Securing Mosley’s commitment would have a multifaceted impact on the Bulldogs

  • Enhanced Depth and Versatility: Mosley’s ability to play multiple positions would provide Coach Smart with strategic flexibility, allowing for dynamic game plans and in-game adjustments.

  • Recruiting Momentum: Landing a high-profile recruit like Mosley would serve as a testament to Georgia’s continued prominence in recruiting, potentially influencing other top prospects to consider the Bulldogs.

  • Fan Engagement and Excitement: The addition of a local talent with star potential would undoubtedly excite the fan base, generating increased support and enthusiasm for the upcoming seasons.

Looking Ahead

As the recruitment process nears its conclusion, all signs point toward Ryan Mosley joining the Georgia Bulldogs. His dual-threat capabilities, combined with his familiarity with the program and the opportunities for development, make Georgia an ideal fit for his collegiate career. Fans and analysts alike eagerly anticipate the official announcement, which is expected to further solidify the Bulldogs’ position as a dominant force in college football.
