Ohio State the Favorite to Land Another Highly Touted Star

The Ohio State Buckeyes is keen on landing five-star safety from Hartfield Academy in Brandon(MS). Ryan Day and his management reached out to him in June, 2024 and since them he has been one of their top priority.

Bralan Womack ranks No. 1 in the safety category and No. 18 overall in the class of 2026, per On3. He chose his top schools back in February, naming Ohio State, Florida, Auburn and Texas A&M.

“Ohio State and A&M have been on me harder and with me longer, but Auburn and Florida have a great pitch,” said the safety to On3.”I like the changes at each school, they have great resources and all four schools have a great chance at landing me.”

Fresh out of his visit to the Buckeyes on April 5, it is highly likely that Womack is going for Ohio State.

“On3’s No. 1 ranked safety Bralan Womack spent the weekend at Ohio State,” wrote Steve Wiltfong of On3. “The Buckeyes are in prime position to land one of their top targets in the 2026 cycle.

“The Brandon (Miss.) Hartfield Academy five-star is also high on Auburn, Florida and Texas A&M. Womack says Ohio State is No. 1 for him.” he added.

The atmosphere at Ohio State is what attracted the safety to the program. “Their tradition, the mindset in the locker room,” Womack said to On3. “The brotherhood and development is second to none.” The Buckeyes also poached Blaine Badford and Simeon Caldwell earlier this week, mentioning which Womack expressed how he will complement the defense. “They got two safeties last week, Blaine Bradford, a great physical safety with great feet, and Simeon Caldwell, a long, rangy more in the box safety/linebacker,” Womack said. “So adding me into the mix, a hybrid ball-hawking safety who can get the ball out of the air and make the tackles that are needed to be made, they have a great trio of versatile safeties in the 26’ class.”
