Ohio State Buckeyes are firmly in the mix for an elite offensive lineman following huge recruiting weekend
Ohio State picked up three commitments last week to really help their 2026 recruiting class take off. Five-star S Blaine Bradford was the big name and was followed up by four-star S Simeon Caldwell and three-star LB CJ Sanna.
The Buckeyes made ground with several other recruits and hosted a number of them on Student Appreciation Day. Five-star WR commitment Chris Henry Jr. was amongst the players in town.
Five-star OL Darius Gray was among the visitors in Columbus over the weekend
Ohio State has three offensive linemen committed so far in the class of 2026 but a few out-of-state targets remain on the board. Among those is St. Christopher’s School (VA) IOL Darius Gray, who the Buckeyes are very much in on. Offensive line coach Tyler Bowen was recruiting Gray hard at Virginia Tech and that relationship has carried over.
According to Lettermen Row, the Buckeyes are right there at the top of the recruitment for Gray at this point. The visit over the weekend was another chance for the relationship to build between both sides.
Gray is the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the country, per 247 Sports Composite rankings. Gray is the No. 30 player in the country and holds 44 offers to his name.
“Athletic offensive lineman with a dense build that has the foot quickness to lead the way on long pulls or counters and the horsepower to hold the line of scrimmage or change it. Ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl as he arrived with 34-inch arms and then was able to anchor all week against much older and larger defenders. Relentless energy allows him to not only be a plus finisher in the run game but also readjust and recover in pass sets.” — Andrew Ivins,
The Buckeyes have the No. 3 class in the country currently and are in the mix for several other top players like Gray. Gray doesn’t have an official visit Shedeur led at this point but that could change. Nonetheless, the Buckeyes are in a great spot with the talented offensive lineman.
