Duke basketball runs over NC State to claim ACC regular season title: Score, highlights
RALEIGH, N.C. — Duke basketball demolished N.C. State, 93-64, on Monday, March 2, from the Lenovo Center and claimed the ACC regular season title in the process.
The No. 1 Blue Devils (28-2, 16-1 ACC) led by 17 at half and went on to outscore the Wolfpack (19-11, 10-7) 46-34 in the second half for their seventh-straight win. Entering the contest, Duke had already secured a double-bye and the No. 1 seed at next week’s ACC tournament at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center. It needed just one win to claim the league’s regular season title outright, which it got against the Wolfpack.
Cameron Boozer led Duke with 26 points and nine rebounds, not missing a basket in the second half and finishing 8-of-10 from the field. Dame Sarr added 16 points and eight rebounds, with 14 of those points coming in the first half. Sarr also finished the night with three triples, his first time doing so since Duke defeated Florida State on Jan. 3. Isaiah Evans pitched in 12 points, going 4-of-8 from deep, and Patrick Ngongba II 11.
It was an 18-18 game nine minutes into the first half, with Duke closing the period on a 29-12 run to take the 47-30 lead at the break. The Blue Devils shot 53.3% from the field with a 47.1% clip from 3, with more than half (17) of their shot attempts (30) in the first half coming from deep.
The second half saw Duke shoot 57.1% and N.C. State 30.6%. The Blue Devils finished the night 55.2% from the field and 39.3% from deep. The Wolfpack shot 35.4% from the field and 24.1% from 3.
