Where Clemson baseball sits in Coaches Poll after another rough week
Clemson baseball is trending in the wrong direction.
The Tigers (18-7 overall) were swept by Notre Dame over the weekend in South Bend, dropping Clemson to 1-5 in ACC play after two weekend series. Following a 15-1 start to the season that saw them climb to No. 9 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, Clemson has since lost six of its last nine games.
Coach Erik Bakich’s team was outscored by an unranked Fighting Irish squad, 21-11, despite outhitting Notre Dame for the overall series. After being blanked 6-0 in Friday’s series opener, Clemson had 12 hits on Saturday but blew a 7-5 lead and lost in walk-off fashion, 8-7.
