Kitt & Cherop Earn ACC Weekly Honors

CLEMSON, S.C.  The Atlantic Coast Conference released its weekly performance awards Tuesday afternoon, with Aniyah Kitt and Nancy Cherop each securing honors.

Kitt | Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Kitt was the UCF Black & Gold Challenge women’s 200m champion after posting a time of 22.85 seconds. This ranks No. 2 in the nation, tops the ACC and sits fourth on Clemson’s All-Time Top 10 list. She was also on the winning 4x100m relay team that finished in 43.53 seconds (No. 2 NCAA / No. 1 ACC) and the runner up 4x400m relay team (3:36.83) that ranks seventh in the nation and first in the ACC.

This is Kitt’s second outdoor ACC Weekly Award in her career, following her Rookie of the Week she was crowned on April 29, 2025, after competing on the winning women’s SMR at the Penn Relays. Additionally, Kitt also received three indoor ACC Rookie of the Week honors last year.

Cherop | Women’s Rookie Athlete of the Week

Cherop won the women’s 1500m with a time of 4:12.89 at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge. Her time broke UCF’s facility record, places third on Clemson’s Top 10 List and leads the nation. This is Cherop’s third ACC Rookie of the Week following the two indoor awards she earned on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.
