Duke Lands Commitment From Stellar 3-Star Linebacker
Duke football head coach Manny Diaz and his staff have landed their fourth overall commitment and second linebacker pledge from a class of 2027 recruit, as 3-star linebacker Jack Baker has announced his commitment to the Blue Devils.
Baker is a 6′ 2″, 220-pound product out of Toms River North (NJ). He is rated as the No. 966 overall player, No. 90 linebacker, and No. 27 player out of the state of New Jersey according to the 247Sports 2027 Composite Rankings.
The New Jersey native held offers from schools such as Boston College, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh, among others, but ultimately elected to head to Durham.

“Extremely excited to announce my commitment to Duke University,” Baker said in a post on X. “Beyond thankful for the opportunity to join the Duke family!”
In 2025, Baker tallied 106 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception at Toms River North. The linebacker affects the game in a ton of different ways and could be a candidate to contribute to the Blue Devils’ defensive front seven very early on when he eventually arrives on campus.
Baker Second 2027 Linebacker Commitment for Duke
Baker is the second linebacker to announce his pledge to the Blue Devils in the 2027 recruiting class, joining fellow 3-star recruit Tripp Keller. Keller is rated as the No. 891 overall player, No. 75 linebacker, and No. 90 player out of the state of Florida according to the 247Sports 2027 Composite Rankings.
