Duke baseball shut down top-15 offense, win third straight

Following a strong victory against Davidson on Tuesday, the Duke Blue Devils were back on the diamond Thursday, opening a three-game set with the Louisville Cardinals.

The Blue Devils were in control throughout, jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead before thwarting a late-game rally by Louisville to win 6-3.

Transfer Peter Lemke made an impression in his first start of the season, going 5 2/3 innings, surrendering just one runs, striking out five Cardinals and keeping their top-15 offense at bay throughout the game.

On the offensive side of the plate, Jake Lambdin did damage once again, hitting a home run after a five-RBI game Tuesday. Second baseman Collin Anderson also chipped in, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

With the win, Duke moved into a tie for eighth place in the ACC standings, now owning a 6-7 record this season in conference play.
